Qualifications
The Helen Holm Scottish Ladies’ Open Stroke Play Championship shall be open to lady or girl golfers who are members of a recognised golf club, section or society, who have amateur status in accordance with the current Rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Ltd, and who hold a CONGU® handicap of not more than 5.4 or overseas equivalent. Competitors holding both a CONGU® and overseas authority handicap must enter the Championship using their CONGU® handicap. A valid CONGU® handicap in Scotland, Wales and England is a CONGU® Competition Handicap. The club maintaining the player’s CONGU® handicap must be used for all purposes. The Event Management Committee reserves the right to request the full handicap record from any competitor holding an overseas handicap. Penalty for failure to enter in compliance with this qualification – Disqualification.

Regulations
a)The number of entries shall be limited to 99. In the event of entries exceeding the limit players with the highest exact handicaps shall be rejected, if necessary by ballot, which shall take place immediately after the closing date for entries. The basis for any ballot shall be the exact handicap recorded on the entry form. Unsuccessful entrants will be informed without delay and thereafter their entry fees refunded. The exact handicap certified on the date of entry will be used for all purposes, i.e. no change of handicap will be accepted, even if prior to the closing date.

b)Entries must be submitted on the official entry form available from the Office of the Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association Limited. Entry forms can be downloaded from the SLGA website – www.slga.co.uk. Completed entry forms, accompanied by the entry fee, must be received by the Office by 12 noon on the day on which entries close. Late entries will not be accepted.
Cheques should be made payable, in STERLING to the Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association Limited.

c)Competitors must register in person at the SLGA office on site between 10am and 4pm on the day prior to the Championship. Penalty for breach - disqualification. Telephone calls may be accepted in exceptional circumstances. Any competitor wishing to withdraw must notify the Office as soon as possible. Failure to do so may disqualify a player from future Championships. In the event of withdrawal after the closing date, the entry fee will not be returned.

d)The Event Management Committee nominated by the Board shall be the Stewards of the Event which will be entirely under their control. They reserve the right to refuse entry without assigning a reason and shall settle all disputes during the Event, their decision being final.

Conditions
a)The Rules and Regulations governing the Event shall be those of the R&A, the SLGA Hard Card and Local Rules as laid down by the Event Management Committee. It will be obligatory for all competitors to play with a ball that is named on the current R&A or USGA list of conforming golf balls. Copies of this list will be available at the event.

b)One round of 18 holes shall be played on the first and second days over the Portland Course and one round of 18 holes on the third day over the Old Course. Draws shall be made for the first 2 rounds and the groups and starting times for the final round (with a cut to 66 players and ties) shall be determined in accordance with the scores on the first 2 days, players with the lowest scores starting last.

c)In the event of a tie for the Championship there will be a hole-by-hole play-off, immediately after the final card has been returned, to determine the winner. All other ties will be decided by a card countback on the final 18, 9, 6, 3 or 1 hole(s).

d)There shall be an International Team event played in conjunction with the Championship, for which any country may nominate a team of two players. The winning team shall be that returning the lowest aggregate score for the three rounds, ties to be decided by a card countback as in condition (c) above. If there is still a tie the Trophy shall be held for an equal period of time by each winning national team.

e)Competitors shall start in the groups and times laid down by the Committee.

f)A competitor may not engage a professional or assistant professional golfer as a caddie. Penalty for breach - Disqualification.

g)Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorised by the Event Management Committee. Permission to ride on any form of transportation must be sought by applying in writing to the SLGA prior to the Championship. Penalty for breach of condition; refer to Rules of Golf, Appendix 1, Part C, Point 8 Transportation.

h)A competitor shall not knowingly make use of any drug to enhance her performance. In this respect the attention of competitors is drawn to the prescribed list of drugs issued by UK Sport, a copy of which is available on request. Any competitor infringing this condition, or if asked to do so, refusing to take a test, may be disqualified and be disciplined under Rule 9 and Regulation 3.7 of the SLGA Rules and Regulations.

i)The Committee reserves the right to use films, photographs, pictures and similar references to competitors in practice and play in the publicity arrangements prior to, during and after the Championship. This is subject to parent / guardian permission for players under the age of 18.

Trophies and Prizes
The Helen Holm Trophy, presented by Michael Holm Esq, shall be awarded to the player returning the lowest score for the 54 holes and shall be held for one year but will be retained at the Ladies' Golf Club, Troon. The winner shall also receive a Trophy which she shall retain for one year, and a voucher.
The Ladies' Golf Club Salver shall be awarded to the team returning the lowest aggregate score for the 54 holes and shall be held for one year but will be retained by the Ladies’ Golf Club, Troon. Each member of the winning team shall also receive a voucher.
Other prizes shall be given, including a prize for the best aggregate score returned by a player under 18 years of age on the 1 January of the year of the Championship, & The Hole-in-One Trophy which shall be awarded to the competitor who achieves a hole-in-one in any round of the Championship and shall be held for one year. Should more than one competitor qualify for the award, the Trophy shall be held for an equal period of the year by each such competitor.
Competitors may win both individual round and aggregate prizes. Where scratch and net prizes have equal value, the scratch prize will be given precedence.
